Economic Development Week 2024 | May 6-10
Economic Development Week (May 6-10, 2024), was created in 2016 by International Economic Development Council (IEDC), during which communities across North America will celebrate and recognize the contributions made by professional economic developers to create more economically vibrant and livable communities.
Elevate Douglas will be celebrating Douglas businesses all week long during Economic Development Week and will host a range of events.

Economic development is the intentional practice of improving a community’s economic well-being and quality of life. It includes a broad-range of activities to attract, create, and retain jobs, and to foster a resilient, pro-growth tax base and an inclusive economy. The practice of economic development comprises of a collaborative effort involving industry, government and myriad community stakeholders. Download the FAQ for more information!
The Douglasville City Council and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners will Proclaim the week of May 6th - Economic Development Week - in the city and county! Join us at the City Council Meeting on May 6th at 6pm and the Board of Commissioners Meeting on May 7th at 10am.

Business Walk at Westfork
On May 9th, we will visit businesses in the Westfork Business Park to say thank you for choosing Douglas County!


The Career Ready Training Program offers free training to individuals in Douglas County, who are looking for careers in high demand career areas. The program provides access to a new pipeline of candidates for Douglas County employers, who are looking for a trained and qualified workforce. Applications open May 1 - May 17.
