Straton named Deputy Director

January 17, 2020 (Douglasville, GA) – The Douglas County Economic Development Authority Board of Directors named Breezy Straton as the Deputy Director for the Douglas County Economic Development Authority. Prior to this role, Ms. Straton served as the Director of Existing Industry, Workforce, and Compliance and as Project Manager for the Authority. Since joining the Authority in June 2014, Ms. Straton has played a critical role in successfully recruiting new industry to Douglas County including Switch Data Centers, Stitch Fix, and expansions for Google and Gordon Food Service. She also led the development and implementation of workforce programs such as the Career Ready Training Program. In her new role as Deputy Director she will continue to oversee the Authority’s efforts for existing industry, workforce and compliance but will also serve the Authority with additional leadership responsibilities.


Prior to joining the Douglas County Economic Development Authority, Ms. Straton served in the Office of Enrollment Management for Mercer University. She earned her Undergraduate Degree from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies in History and Religion and her Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs with a concentration in Social Policy and Quasi-Government Organizations. Ms. Straton is a graduate of Leadership Douglas and Regional Leadership Institute, has been named a Top Ten Young Professional in Douglas County twice, awarded the 2017 Regal Award by the Douglas-Carroll-Paulding Counties Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and the 2019 Taking Care of Business Award by National Skills Coalition.
