Position Summary:

The Director of Business Development leads strategic efforts to attract new businesses of all sizes and industry sectors in support of the economic development mission of the Development Authority and Elevate Douglas Economic Partnership. This role is responsible for managing business recruitment and attraction projects, strengthening relationships with economic development partners, and supporting initiatives that promote business growth and investment in the community. This position works closely with the Executive Director/President and community stakeholders to advance strategic economic development priorities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads business recruitment efforts for professional services, industrial, and retail projects
    • Completion of all RFIs and coordination with partners to ensure accuracy of information
    • Maintaining available sites and buildings on website
    • Serving as primary representative for site visits
  • Assist with business expansion projects
  • Implements the organization’s business attraction and recruitment strategy
  • Supports redevelopment opportunities
  • Serves as primary representative for corporate and developer owned sites
  • Coordinates the Economic Development Partners Committee to foster collaboration among local, regional, and state partners
  • Perform all related duties as assigned.
