About the Program

The Career Ready Training Program offers free training to individuals in Douglas County, who are looking for careers in high demand career areas. The program provides access to a new pipeline of candidates for Douglas County employers, who are looking for a trained and qualified workforce.

The training includes: Effective Workplace Communication/Teamwork/Ethics, Precision Manufacturing, Forklift Safety and Operation, Workplace Safety and Hazards, Financial Literacy, HR Basics, and all participants take the Gallup Strengths Based Assessment.

The training program is offered three times a year:

  • Spring (March/April) - two mornings a week for four weeks
  • Summer (June/July) - two mornings a week for four weeks
  • Fall (September/October) - two mornings a week for four weeks

      • Wednesday, October 9
      • Monday, October 21
      • Wednesday, October 23
      • Monday, October 28
      • Wednesday, October 30
      • Friday, November 1 (Interview Day)

The Career Ready Training Program is a strategic workforce development program of Elevate Douglas Economic Partnership in partnership with West Georgia Technical College and is funded through grant funding provided by Georgia Power and Google.
