Five magnet public high schools offer residents top-notch choices, ranging from a prestigious International Baccalaureate program to arts, STEM, agriculture, and state-of-the-art technology. Brighten Academy (K-8) was recently ranked a top charter school in the state.
Douglas County College and Career Institute (CCI) collaborates between the Douglas County School System, West Georgia Technical College, and the needs of the business community to develop students for the local workforce. In addition, Georgia University is working together with the our high schools to create a cyber program focused on science and medicine.
Fourteen private schools provide parents with even more options for K-12, including the Harvester Christian Academy and the Montessori School of Douglas County. Five institutes of higher learning—West Georgia Technical College, Georgia Highlands College, Mercer University, Strayer University, and University of West Georgia—offer a variety of degrees at their Douglas County campuses.
